The Voronoi Diagram was codified by the Ukrainian/Russian Mathematician Georgy Voronoi in the early 20th century. It is a method of dividing space based on a set of input points. The input points are connected to their nearest neighbors, these lines are then subdivided perpendicularly to form the outlines of the Voronoi cells. This drawing uses randomly scattered specks from a pepper grinder above the drafting table as input points. (via sevensixfive)
